India is known as a land of various cultures and diverse heritage. Since ancient times various sites have developed across the land that not only carry forward our beautiful art, sculpture and architecture but also make us feel as if travelling in various eras and timelines.  

1 Udaipur:

Located in the lap of Aravalli Hills in Rajasthan it contains the Royal Palaces of Maharana Udai Singh, the father of Maharana Pratap. Serving as the capital of Mewar it is home to two famous Lake Palaces, one in the middle of Lake Pichola, another being Monsoon Palace Sajjangarh.

It also houses the Jag Mandir, Ahar museum containing the memoirs of Maharanas of Mewar, Fateh Sagar lake, Saheliyon ki Bari which is the garden for women and many other wonders filled with luxury and extravagance.

Cost: Around 40,000 per person (may differ)

Best time to travel: Between months of September to March

2 Ajanta and Ellora:

Located in Aurangabad district of Maharashtra these rock cut structures have been classified under UNESCO world heritage site. These are mostly Buddhist Caves made under the rule of various kings, it is an attractive history lover site with the beautiful Fresco paintings decorating the cave walls and immensely crafted sculptures carved through a period of various timelines. The most historic of them is the Kailash Mandir in the Ellora cave complex.

Cost: 25,000 per person

Best time to travel: June to March are the best months to visit Ajanta and Ellora Caves. It becomes a little difficult to travel around and explore the caves in summers April-May. 

3 Rishikesh:

Located in the Himalayan foothills of Uttarakhand beside river Ganges it is the holy city of yoga and spiritual enlightenment through meditation. Rafting, beach activities, boating are some of the leisure activities that the city complex has to offer. One can also visit Shri Neelkanth Mahadev temple, Vashishta gufa, Bharat Mandir and Lakshman Mandir.

Cost: 25,000 per person

Best time to travel: October – February

4 Jaipur:

The Pink City which is globally known for its luxury, this coloured gem has a integrated design of the most advanced metropolitan experience combined with a traditional outlook of what Rajasthan has to offer. It’s splendid Nahargarh fort ,Jaigarh fort and Garh Ganesh temple are only a small part of the whole royal experience that one can have through Amber, City Palace of Sawai Jai Singh II, Jantar Mantar, Hawa Mahal, Albert Hall museum and Jal Mahal along with others.

5 Agra: 

The great capital city of Mughal Emperors located along the banks of river Yamuna. Place offers a unique blend of imperial mughal architecture with modern infrastructure that is known for its simplicity and splendor. It is the home of the taj Mahal which is one of the Seven Wonders of the world. Various other places to visit in Agra are Agra Fort, the Tomb of Itimad-ud-Daulad, Sheesh Mahal, Kalakriti Cultural and Convention Centre and Imperial Wax Museum.

Best time to travel: November- Feburary

6. Karnataka

Known for its diverse beauty and widely known for its UNESCO World Heritage site karnataka is a good place to visit for Temple lovers who like to enjoy the architectural Marvels of the ancient world. With Virupaksha Temple in Hampi which was established in the Vijayanagara empire with not one but various monuments are this extraordinary and splendid temple complex. Other temples to visit are VitthalSsamy temple complex in Hampi, Hoysaleshwar Temple in Halebidu, Chennakesava Temple in Belur and Somnathpura.

Chikmagalur the coffee land along with jog falls and Kushalnagar which is ideal for a  weekend getaway might just make your trip even more beautiful.
