How to enhance your metabolism

Introduction

Metabolism is simply the term given to a set of chemical processes that occur within an organism to maintain its continued functioning/life. Our cells require energy to carry out processes which they get mainly from the food we consume. When we take a bite of food, like a potato, our bodies which are made up of organs (organism), and specific types of cells, like liver cells   receive the energy from the potato by performing a set of chemical transformations on the potato. The metabolism of a person is the amount at which the body consumes energy in its calories. A range of factors, including age, sex, body fat, muscle mass, exercise and heredity, are determining how quickly metabolism is.

These cells use the nutrients for energy to carry out their specific functions,  and produce waste products as a result. The waste by-products of all these actions are cleared from your body by various mechanisms, for example when you inhale air, it goes into your lungs where it is filtered down so finely that oxygen can diffuse straight into your bloodstream, which is then shuttled to cells all over your body by hemoglobin.

Our metabolism is basically a bunch of organs and glands that are responsible for regulating how our body burns food for fuel and how it converts that food into energy.  Actually metabolism is the body’s way of using food for its benefit in an efficient way.

How many types of Metabolism

Metabolism processes are of two types

1. Anabolism

2. Catabolism

Anabolism

It is a process in which two or one molecule joins to make a large molecule. This process is used in growth of body and this is useful for kids and to recover any damaged cell.

Catabolism

Catabolism digests food we eat into simpler molecules that is used by our body cell to generate energy to grow and carry out daily physical physiological and psychological activity. Example of Catabolism is bread we eat converted into glucose molecule that is used by cell.

How to boost our Metabolism

There are number of factors for enhancing the Metabolism.  A fast Metabolism is often attributed to good genetics, so people easily give up on improving something in terms of this crucial process in the body. Actually healthy habits that stimulate Metabolism are the golden rules for more productive processes that take place in the body.  Such habits make you feel more relaxed, more beautiful and fresher. The following are the good habits which are responsible for enhancing Metabolism.

  1. Good sleep

Good sleep is necessary for the normal functioning of the organism. It is best way to enhance Metabolism. So, a person should take sound sleep to boost Metabolism.

2. Balanced diet
A balanced diet is one of the most important factors in enhancing Metabolism. In fact new energy comes from the food. So, a person should take balanced diet to increase metabolism. Some individuals skip the food for weight loss. This can have harmful impacts on the metabolism, though. Food not sufficient might have the same impact.

Too little calories might decrease the metabolism of a person so that the body can retain energy. Depending on their degree of physical activity, adult females need between 1,600 and 2,400 calories per day while men need between 2,000 and 3,000 calories.

3. Physical Activity
Physical activity is an excellent stimulus for weight loss and faster metabolism.

4. Water
Water is the best way for increasing metabolism. A person should take at least 2 litres water in a day to regulate metabolism. Staying hydrated is necessary for the body to operate at its maximum efficiency. Water is important for proper metabolism, and it may assist a person lose weight.

Conclusion

Hence you can enhance your metabolism by adopting good habits like good sleep, balanced diet, physical activity and water.
