He decided to renounce the world and all its pleasures, and go away to a forest for meditation. She thought, \u2018Why should my husband decide to go away to the\nforest, leaving his luxurious lifestyle and all his wealth behind? Obviously, it is because he expects\nto find something blissfully greater there. Would anyone deliberately exchange a happy life for one\nfilled with ordeals?\u2019\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Maitreyi told her husband: \u201cYou are a learned man; it is your knowledge that urges you to\nabandon your affluent life and seek self-realisation. Instead of bestowing your wealth on me,\nplease share your knowledge with me.\u201d\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Yajnavalkya gave away his entire fortune to Katyayini.
