Indore is famous for so many things but POHA is our favorite.  However, in Indore Poha Jalebi is a classic combination and no one eats the poha all by itself. Jalebi must accompany it. To be more traditional try it with jalebis and crunchy namkeen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.viniscookbook.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/02\/2019-02-04-12-40-46.jpg\" alt=\"Indori Poha\" width=\"458\" height=\"353\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Ingredients<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group\"><div class=\"wp-block-group__inner-container is-layout-flow wp-block-group-is-layout-flow\">\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li> 2 cups Poha Thick variety<\/li><li> 2 tbsp Vegetable Oil<\/li><li> 1 tsp Mustard Seeds<\/li><li> 1 tsp Fennel Seeds<\/li><li> 1\/4 cup Peanuts<\/li><li> 2 tsp Green Chilli Chopped<\/li><li> 10-12 Curry Leaves<\/li><li> 1\/2 cup Potato Peeled and Cubed<\/li><li> Salt to taste<\/li><li> 1\/4 tsp Turmeric Powder<\/li><li> 1 tsp Jeeravan Masala If not available, use 1\/2 tsp Roasted cumin powder and 1\/2 tsp coriander powder<\/li><li> 1 tbsp Lemon Juice<\/li><li> 1 tsp Sugar<\/li><li> 2 tbsp Fresh Coriander Chopped<\/li><li> 2-3 tbsp Sev Mixture<\/li><li> 2 tbsp Pomegranate Seeds (optional)<\/li><li> 2 tbsp Onion Chopped<\/li><\/ul>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Instructions<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Wash the poha nicely and soak in water for 2-3 minutes until it is softened.<\/li><li>Do not over soak otherwise poha will become mushy.<\/li><li>Drain the water from the poha and keep it aside.<\/li><li>Heat vegetable oil in a pan.<\/li><li>Once the oil is hot, add mustard seeds and fennel seeds.<\/li><li>Let them crackle for a few seconds.<\/li><li>Add peanuts, green chilli and curry leaves and fry until peanuts turn slightly brown.<\/li><li>Add potato and cover and cook until potatoes are softened.<\/li><li>Now add the poha in the pan along with salt, turmeric powder, jeeravan masala, lemon juice and sugar and mix well.<\/li><li>Cook for 2-3 minutes.<\/li><li>Garnish the poha with fresh coriander, sev mixture, pomegranate seeds and onion.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Important Note<\/strong>: You should soak the soak the poha only until it is just about softened.&nbsp;Then immediately drain it.&nbsp;It will still keep absorbing the extra water and soften more.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p><span class=\"span-reading-time rt-reading-time\" style=\"display: block;\"><span class=\"rt-label rt-prefix\">Reading Time: <\/span> <span class=\"rt-time\"> 2<\/span> <span class=\"rt-label rt-postfix\">minutes<\/span><\/span>It is a big surprise if you have not heard about Indori Poha.
