A mouse looked through the crack
\nIn the wall to see the farmer
\nAnd his wife open a package.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What food might this contain?\u2019
\nThe mouse wondered \u2013 \u2013 \u2013
\nHe was devastated to discover
\nIt was a mousetrap<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Retreating to the farmyard,
\nThe mouse proclaimed the warning :<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There is a mousetrap in the house!
\nThere is a mousetrap in the house!\u2019<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The chicken clucked and scratched,
\nRaised her head and said,
\n\u2018Mr.Mouse, I can tell this is a grave
\nConcern to you, but it is of no consequence
\nTo me. I cannot be bothered by it.\u2019<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The mouse turned to the pig and told him,
\n\u2018There is a mousetrap in the house!
\nThere is a mousetrap in the house!\u2019
\nThe pig sympathized, but said,
\n\u2018I am so very sorry, MrMouse,
\nBut there is nothing I can do about it
\nBut pray. Be assured you are in my prayers.\u2019<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The mouse turned to the cow and said,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2018There is a mousetrap in the house!
\nThere is a mousetrap in the house!\u2019<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The cow said, \u2018Wow, Mr. Mouse.
\nI\u2019m sorry for you,
\nBut it\u2019s no skin off my nose.\u2019<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So, the mouse returned to the house,
\nHead down and dejected,
\nTo face the farmer\u2019s mousetrap . . Alone.
\nThat very night a sound was heard
\nThroughout the house \u2014 like the sound
\nOf a mousetrap catching its prey.
\nThe farmer\u2019s wife rushed to see what was caught.
\nIn the darkness, she did not see it was a venomous snake whose tail the trap had caught.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The snake bit the farmer\u2019s wife.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The farmer rushed her to the hospital,
\nAnd she returned home with a fever.
\nEveryone knows you treat a fever
\nWith fresh chicken soup, so the farmer
\nTook his hatchet to the farmyard
\nFor the soup\u2019s main ingredient.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But his wife\u2019s sickness continued,
\nSo friends and neighbors came to sit
\nWith her around the clock.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To feed them,
\nThe farmer butchered the pig.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The farmer\u2019s wife did not get well;
\nShe died.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So many people came for her funeral,
\nThe farmer had the cow slaughtered to
\nProvide enough meat for all of them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The mouse looked upon it all from his
\nCrack in the wall with great sadness.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So, the next time you hear someone is
\nFacing a problem and think it doesn\u2019t
\nConcern you, remember \u2014-<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When one of us is threatened,
\nWe are all at risk.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We are all involved in this
\nJourney called life.
\nWe must keep an eye out for
\nOne another and make an extra effort
\nTo encourage one another.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\nHAS EVER HELPED YOU OUT
\nAND LET THEM KNOW HOW
\nIMPORTANT THEY ARE.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

REMEMBER. . .<\/p>\n\n\n\n

EACH OF US IS A VITAL THREAD IN ANOTHER PERSON\u2019S TAPESTRY;<\/p>\n\n\n\n

OUR LIVES ARE WOVEN TOGETHER FOR A REASON.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
